Dr. Christine Thorpe

Dr. Christine Thorpe has more than 15 years experience in the health and human services fields, including extensive work as a health education specialist and wellness coach. In her work as founder of a consulting company that provides training, research and education for health and human services organizations, she has worked extensively to assist them enhance their capacity and effectiveness in addressing the needs of their target populations.
Christine is the department chairperson and assistant professor in the Health and Human Services Department at New York City College of Technology/City University of New York. She is an active board member of the YWCA of Bergen County (NJ), where she is currently the board secretary. Christine is also the health literacy and cultural competence trainer for the Harold Freeman Patient Navigation Institute in New York City.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Syracuse University, a Master of Education degree in International Education and a Doctoral degree in Health Education from Teachers College Columbia University.
