This violence prevention training program provides managers with the basics to use in responding to potentially harmful situations. Topics include handling conflict, violence/unfair treatment link, recognizing threats, and identifying erratic behaviors.
We know we are working within a violent society. Many employees are victims of robbery, many are stalked by co-workers or total strangers. And sadly, significant numbers are victims of domestic violence who are easily found on the job.
Workplace Violence - WHAT CAN BE DONE?
Even though workplace violence is on the increase, the good news is that much of it can be prevented. We’re all familiar with security devices and procedures involving access control and locks.
What we sometimes forget is the important role managers and supervisors can play in maintaining a secure workplace for their employees and customers.
Whether it’s diffusing a potentially volatile customer confrontation, responding to a veiled employee threat, or recognizing erratic employee behavior, each manager and supervisor has a duty to help keep their workplace secure.
